The Islamic Heritage Foundation is a non-religious community based 501 C-3 organization formed in 1992 to promote the social and academic development of youth and to provide monetary support and motivation for students pursuing higher education. The mission of the foundation is to allow youths to become involved in activities which encourage and enhance their collective growth and cooperation by providing positive alternatives to violence, crime, drugs, and indecent behavior, and to offer an opportunity for the youths to develop organizational and leadership skills. The foundation also endeavors to educate youth and the general public about Islamic culture. Programs and events are offered in conjunction with the School District of Philadelphia and student organizations at Temple University, Community College of Philadelphia, University of Pennsylvania, and University of Delaware. Our motto “Building Communities, Strengthening Families and Empowering Our Youth,” reflects our commitment to the educational and holistic development of young people so that they may better serve as future leaders and participants in society.
